Neil Wood

Former CFO LOCOG and member of the Dubai 2020 Expo advisory board

From July 2005 until May 2013 Neil was the Chief Financial Officer of The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Limited (LOCOG). As the CFO and executive board member of LOCOG, Neil was at the heart of the financing, planning and delivery of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, which are generally recognised as the two largest peacetime logistical events in the World. The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games were the largest events ever to have been held in the United Kingdom. Prior to taking on his role as the CFO of LOCOG, Neil was the Finance Director of the London 2012 bid, where he developed the financial model for the London 2012 Games, negotiated the Joint Venture Agreement with the Government to establish LOCOG and presented on all financial aspects of London’s bid to the IOC Evaluation Commission. Neil was awarded an MBE is the 2006 New Year’s honours for his services to the London 2012 bid.
