Experienced event management/charity fundraising professional and CIM member. Claire studied at The University of Greenwich and New Hampshire College, Massachusetts, USA, attaining a degree in International Business & Marketing and a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Now a member of the Association of Event Managers, Claire is a contributing journalist for the London & UK Datebook. Claire has worked in an event management or consultancy capacity for clients in the USA, UK, Europe, China, Peru, Israel, Nepal and Vietnam. After working as a marketer for an international financial investment company in Boston, Claire began her UK career as a PA and event organiser with the Duchess of York’s charity, Children in Crisis, where she developed exceptional diplomatic skills and learnt how to plan and implement special occasions with Royalty. She also developed her expertise in volunteer recruitment and management. Over the years, moves to other well-known charities meant that Claire gained expertise in managing large-scale beneficiary events in both the British and international arenas. She has also dealt extensively with corporate event sponsors ensuring that Service Level Agreements are continuously met and exceeded, in line with company objectives. Claire is also an experienced International Challenge Event organiser. Her various roles have allowed her to identify new geographical areas for challenge events, create challenge concepts, market challenges throughout the UK, attract corporate sponsorship and act as a leader for international treks. In addition to Claire’s event experience she has also held the position of Head of National Fundraising at a UK-wide charity. Here she recruited and managed a team of fundraisers and introduced many new fundraising concepts, giving her an in-depth knowledge of how multi-faceted non-profit organisations operate. With over 15 years experience in the events sector in hands-on and strategic management roles, Claire has a comprehensive knowledge of the issues that organisations face in terms of raising funds, raising profile through events and the ever increasing need to maintain a strong customer base for survival. Claire also lectures on a number of postgraduate and evening event diploma courses and has designed and led many bespoke training courses within organisations. She is also a trained Voiceover artist.
