FAQs

Why study with Event Academy?

Event Academy is managed and run by industry veterans. All of our courses have been designed by people with current events experience. For those two reasons alone, it’s worth studying with us.

Around 92% of all those who study one of our event planning courses are now working within the industry. If you’re looking for a career change or want to get into events, these courses are some of the best around!

What type of career will the courses prepare me for?

Our event planning courses cover as much ground as it’s possible to cover. Everything from event planning to technical production and everything in-between. We also cover sustainable events, supplier management, marketing, social media and lots of other skills you’ll find useful.

Whether you’re looking to get into wedding planning, corporate events planning, fundraisers or something else, you’ll find the skills and the experience you need within one of our courses.

What does an event manager do?

It would be easier to ask what an event manager doesn’t do! We are responsible for organising and running events for clients. That will include everything from brainstorming the initial idea to pitching to clients, raising money, sourcing staff and performance talent, managing the technical requirements of the event, health and safety and managing the staff to help run it.

There are also supplementary tasks such as marketing, social media and post-event analysis. You can specialise later in your career but the more experience you get, the better an events manager you’ll be.

Can I study as an international student?

We welcome students from across the globe! Everyone is welcome to study our event management courses. You will need a good standard of written and verbal English to succeed with the courses but our team will be there to help you every step of the way.

Our online courses are accessible anywhere with a reliable internet connection. You study in your own time, at your own pace so you can literally study from anywhere!

Are there any entry requirements for the courses?

You do not need any experience for the Foundation course. It teaches the fundamentals of event management and assumes no previous experience or knowledge.

You will benefit from industry experience for the Online Diploma and Online Postgraduate though. Both courses assume events knowledge but will support and guide you throughout each topic.

Are the qualifications recognised within the events industry?

All event management courses are CIM-accredited. The Chartered Institute of Marketing is a well-established, global presence and any accredited qualification will be recognised in many places across the industry and wider world.

All of our courses are CIM-accredited so whatever level you’re at, you will gain a recognised qualification at the end of it. A qualification that should stand you in good stead to get a job within the industry.
