Your intensive Diploma in Event Management for Marketing & Communications is a full-time two-week course held at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London.

The course is a blend of practical learning, venue site visits, project work and lectures from our expert tutors.

You will cover event management fundamentals: planning, marketing and creativity across a wide range of industry sectors including festivals, weddings and sporting events.

The course blends classroom-based and digital learning; you will be given a range of online modules to support your in-class learning.

During your course you will work on a group project to plan and organise a live event. Working as part of a small team with a live brief from a real client, you will develop creative, marketing and events solutions to achieve the objective before pitching your idea to the client.

To help you prepare for your course you will be given access to three pre-course modules one month ahead of your course start date. For maximum flexibility, you will be able to take your end of course exam anytime within a month after your courses finishes in the comfort of your own home. This will be preceded by an online exam revision webinar.

For many, the Diploma Course is a powerful springboard to a new career. For some, it is an opportunity to gain a fresh injection of learning to enhance their existing role. For all, it is challenging, fun, different and above all effective.

Intensive Diploma in Event Management Course Project and Modules
This course is divided into key learning modules and a live-brief project, with students having the chance to practice what they learn in a professional environment. Alongside the technical and logistical event learning provided, we aim to develop an informed confidence in our students. Event management requires great teamwork, resourcefulness, creativity and tenacity to succeed; we see these soft skills as equally important to develop as academic knowledge. To help you prepare for your course you will be given access to three pre-course modules one month ahead of your course start date.

Lectures: 2 weeks – Monday – Friday (10am – 4pm)

• 2 virtual site visits to London locations
• 1 project brief (real life client based scenario)
• 1 live pitch (presenting your project brief to a real client)

Marks are awarded: 60% Project 40 % Exam
One online exam – answering briefs & scenarios – open textbook is allowed.

Client Projects

The course blends virtual classes and digital support module learning.

During your course you will work on a group project to plan and organise a virtual live event. Working as part of a small team with a brief from a real client, you will develop creative, marketing and events solutions to achieve the objective before pitching your idea to the client.

Industry Volunteer Work Opportunities

Our CIM accredited courses offer all students the opportunity to volunteer at a variety of events across the industry. Our reputation within the events industry has allowed us access to some of the most exciting events including The Brit Awards, adidas City Run, Secret Cinema, Wilderness Festival and the National Geographic Show.

Throughout the year, opportunities (some paid) are posted for students on our online student hub. Each time you volunteer at an event you are able to add experience to your CV, create contacts and put your learning into action

Entry Requirements

We are flexible on qualifications depending on experience but as a guideline you can apply if you have ONE of the following:

• 2 A Levels & 5 GCSEs (including English & Maths)
• International Baccalaureate
• Experience working within events or marketing industry for minimum 6 months
• Relevant professional experience for minimum 6 months

In exceptional cases we will consider other qualifications or experience. All students will be required to complete an interview prior to acceptance.
