  “Dear Event Academy, Thanks so much for the opportunity to work at the BRITS, it was an amazing experience. I was wine waiting a table near to the stage, surrounded by the many celebs! Saw a lot of people, Pharrel, Lily Allen, Tinie Tempah, Arctic Monkeys, Ellie Goulding…just to name a few! It was such an interesting experience to hear from the two Event Managers from Payne + Gunter. It sounds like they still get so much of a buzz from the ‘organised chaos’ which is a feeling I’d love to have from my job after 16 years. Looking after two tables of 10 guests seemed daunting but I made sure to follow instructions and listened to all advice anyone was offering. The importance of preparation was highlighted to me in terms of getting as much stock onto the tables as possible to save constantly being back and forth to the cellar. It also surprised me to see how many staff it takes to make the event run smoothly. I saw Frank Lampard, Tom Daley, Alesha Dixon and Keith Lemon up close and personal as ITV’s tables were close to my own. A fellow waitress needed a hand carrying drinks to one of her tables so I helped and followed her there only to be face to face with Jessie J!
