As the nights draw in and the days get colder we know we’ve got something to look forward to as Bonfire night approaches. Who doesn’t enjoy the dark sky exploding with colour and noise and hearing the “oohs” and “aaahs” of the crowd at a big fireworks display?
Most event professionals are adrenalin junkies and of course the excitement of a fireworks display gets us going. If you’re not a fan of fireworks and Bonfire night then please do stay in the warm, at home with your ear plugs in. Someone has to look after the dog, after all!
Where will you be for Bonfire night?
See below for a round up of some of the best fireworks displays in London. If you know of a great display we’ve not mentioned get in touch and tell us about it.
Head to Clissold Park for a musical, explosive extravaganza! With fireworks set to music, entertainers wandering through the grounds and plenty of food stalls, this event was a huge success last year. Not bad for the first fireworks display in Hackney for over 10 years. We’re expecting the 2015 event to be bigger and bolder and you’ll need to book tickets in advance, you can’t get them on the night.
With a fabulous venue and skyline landmark this will be a breathtaking fireworks display. You’ll also find a family fun area with fairground rides as well as craft beer and street food stalls. We love the fact that they’ve teamed fireworks with an indoor skating rink and a German beer festival, in full Oktoberfest style, in Alexandra Palace’s Great Hall. Definitely something for everyone.
If you are a traditionalist and want your fireworks display on November 5
th itself, then head down to
Wimbledon Park for two fireworks displays, both set to music. The earlier show has a Disney theme and is aimed at families with young children. The later show has the slightly less inspiring title of ‘Through the ages’, but we’re pretty certain the fireworks will be better as this show is aimed at adults.
Back to Saturday night, a third option for you is to head to Battersea Park with a Royal Theme. In honour of Queen Elizabeth becoming England’s longest reigning monarch this year, head along to ‘A Royal Night Out’ and enjoy royalty inspired music and fireworks. There will also be street food pop up stalls and mulled wine available. Tickets are only available in advance so make sure you settle your plans early.
Where is your favourite fireworks display and could you do better as event manager at any of the displays you’ve seen this year? If you think you have the creative talent and eye for detail needed to manage events like these why not have a look at
our courses or download a
brochure.
