That Ball Was Out

Last updated June 1st, 2012
Tennis season is with us again and I am delighted! Event after event is occurring. As I type the French Open has started which is already looking exciting with the 4 top seeds – Djokovic (1), Nadal (2), Federer (3) and Murray(4) going head to head. Once the French Open is completed on Sunday 10th June it is quickly followed by the Aegon (formally Stella) Queens Cup Tennis tournament (Monday 11th June – Sunday 17th June), where a lot of the players will use this week long tournament as practice on grass courts before the all time prestigious Wimbledon commences. On Monday 18th June Wimbledon commences for 2 weeks. The dates for this world renown tournament is etched in the minds of all tennis fans and those of which who were not lucky enough to get tickets in the ballot or are not attending any corporate hospitality have the choice of queuing up outside the courts for left over tickets or are glued to the television. Somehow I am always surprised to note that a trick is being missed by many event companies and marketing teams not making the most of the thousands strong captive audience who are in the queue – you heard it here first! Following Wimbledon the Olympics commences on the 27th July 2012 in London and the Wimbledon courts will be put to use once again. Once this global event is completed the US Open then takes place as of the 27th August through to 9th September. There is no excuse to miss the tennis this summer as there is ample opportunity to involve yourself in this great British founding sport!
