On all of our event training courses the key is to make sure that the great insights and teaching from the lectures is ‘sealed in’ by practical, hands on experiences, out there in the real world. Call it blended learning, active learning, experiential learning or just plain involvement. What’s certain is that we all know the difference between theory and practice. It’s why our live group work, the venue visits, the real client briefings and the volunteering opportunities are an essential part of what makes our event courses work. Recent and up and coming destinations include: Westfield, Kensington Roof Gardens, ‘The Hospital’ and ‘Electric’ private members clubs, Chelsea and Fulham FCs, The Olympic Park, The Royal Opera House, Hilton Hotels, St Martin’s in the Field, Westminster Central Hall, 4 Hamilton Place, Tower Bridge…the list goes on. Learn through doing. That’s the key. As a recent Postgraduate student commented: “I wanted to get into the Event industry and this course seemed absolutely brilliant for it. It definitely makes a difference in getting a job, as you do so many projects, go on so many site visits, are able to meet lots of different people in the industry.”
